he also did a lot of reading before freeing himself so he’s very knowledgable book-wise and persuasive due to his cipher abilities but not especially street smart since he hadn’t spent much time outside.
he scavenged for a while before ending up on the caravan. hes a cipher but his abilities slipped under the radar because the guy tended to write him off as not so smart so i decided he made the guy he was indentured to forget about him before escaping not too long before the start of PoE1. YES OK theyre both from aedyr, opposite ends of society though since aloth grew up in high society and pike had very poor parents who sold him to work for a wizard to pay off their debts.
